What does a unit really cost me?

Every margin you look at rests on one number: what a unit costs you. If that number is stale — the price before the last supplier increase, or a guess someone typed during setup — then every profit figure downstream is wrong in the same direction, and nothing tells you.

What we do about it

• One place where each product's unit cost lives, editable right in the table, with a weighted average available from your own per-order landed costs.
• Import from a spreadsheet, including an export from the tool you use today, and the profit numbers recalculate on their own.
• Every cost shows where it came from — typed in, imported, or averaged from landed costs — so you know what you are trusting before you trust a margin.
• Products selling with no cost set are flagged. A blank cost quietly reports a product as pure profit, and those are the ones that look best right until somebody checks.
